Alwarpet based Oyster Montessori school has collaborated with historian Pradeep Chakravarthy to hold online history classes for kids. The classes are taken on Zoom and will focus on Indian Kings and Kingdoms.
Says Charanya Prabhakar, who runs Oyster Montessori, “Historian Pradeep who is an expert in temple architecture will tell stories about Indian kings with a focus on South Indian kings. He will also tell stories that happened during a war, and tales behind temple architectures.”
The team recently finished its first session, and Charanya says it was a hit among children and their parents. “There were at least 60 participants. Children and parents were delighted to know these stories as the history books doesn’t offer them such stories,” she says.
The history course will comprise of 10 classes and will be taken from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. A new batch is set to start on April 17. The classes are open to children aged 6 and above. For details regarding registration contact 9840917714.
