RAPRA donates Rs. 2 lakh to government relief funds

R. A. Puram Residents Association (RAPRA) recently donated one lakh to the Tamilnadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund and one lakh to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund.

The founder and president of the association R. Chandrasekaran says, “We have been publishing a newsletter every three months for about 8 years now. The funds that we get from that are held in a trust. We have been using that to conduct free workshops for residents and to provide scholarships to students who pass out of Class X. Some of those funds have also been used to purchase and plant trees in the neighbourhood”.

He continues, “Ever since the lockdown, we wanted to do something substantial with the funds that we collected and so we decided to donate it to the relief funds”.
