Sri Ayyappa Swamy temple celebrates Vishu without devotees

Sri Ayyappa Swamy temple at M.R.C Nagar in R.A.Puram celebrated Vishu (Malayalam New Year) today. However, since the temple is closed after the lockdown devotees were not allowed here.

Says Somasundaram, the manager at this temple, “We offered Vishu Kanni for the deity. We also performed special pooja and deeparadanai in the morning. The temple was also decorated with vegetables and fruits. However, devotees were not allowed due to lockdown.”

Though the temple is closed, the manager says daily poojas take place regularly. “The priests who stay nearby come and perform the routine poojas every day,” he says.
