Five new virus positive cases reported in Mylapore

Five new virus-positive cases have been reported in Mylapore. Of the five, 3 have been reported at the C. I. D police quarters at Papanasam Sivan Salai off San Thome High Road.

The other two have been reported at Peyandiamman Kovil Street in Nochikuppam.

A Chennai Corporation official attached to ward 125 who governs civic activities in these zones confirmed this information on May 16 morning.

On May 5, two police officers residing at CID Police Quarters at Papanasam Sivan Salai turned virus-positive. “From them, now the virus has spread to 3 more police officers residing at the quarters,” the official says.

At Peyandiamman Kovil Street in Nochikuppam, he says two extended contacts of virus-positive persons from this area have contracted the virus.

However, the official says he is yet to receive details about these two cases.

In the past few days, one virus case has been reported at Assistant Commissioner’s Police Quarters off Kutchery Road opposite to Jumma Masjid. “One Assistant Commissioner (Harbour), who was residing at the quarters has tested virus-positive.”
