Very few virus cases reported at KVB Gardens after intense lockdown, says police officer monitoring this virus containment zone

Police monitoring the containment zone at KVB Gardens, a slum colony off Kamarajar Salai in R.A.Puram say that only very few cases are reported from this area after intense lockdown.

The colony turned into a virus hot zone in mid May, after it reported 26 virus cases in a day.

Says a police officer attached to Abhiramapuram police station, who monitors the containment zone in K. V. B Gardens, “Prior to intense lockdown, a cluster of virus cases were reported in this area everyday. However, now only one or two cases are reported daily.”

To an extent, he says the lockdown has helped in preventing virus spread. “However, it’s effectiveness can only be determined after June 30.”
