Organic Shandy, an organic store on Luz Church Road, Mylapore has recently received stocks of fresh walnut kernels from Uttarakhand.
P. B. Murali, one of the founders of the store says, “These walnuts were harvested about 10 days ago, their shell has been broken before packing. It needs to be refrigerated, that will prevent the growth of fungus and the walnuts will stay fresh for a long time”. A 250 gm pack costs Rs.450.
Murali says that they have also received Munakka raisins from Assam and other north-eastern states. These traditional brown grapes, which have seeds inside, are naturally dried with no added sugars and then packed.
