On Dec. 16, Sastha Catering Services in collaboration with The Federation of City Sabhas launched its margazhi special live canteen at Mylapore Fine Arts Club on Musuri Subramaniam Road, Mylapore.
The canteen has now become a hit among the public.
On Thursday, at least a dozen people were seen dining at this canteen, that is set up under a tent inside this club.
Says R.K.Venkatesan, proprieter of Sastha Catering services, who has been in the catering business for four years, “We received close to 250 orders on our opening day on Dec.16. And a majority of them were dine-in customers”
He says that people mostly order for breakfast and lunch. “Customers are preferring our meals, as we provide a different variety of food everyday. If we offer avarakkai thoran and kondakadalai kootu for lunch on one day, the next day’s lunch menu will be malabar aviyal and vazhakkai curry.”
Venkatesan adds that they are also receiving huge orders for takeaways. “Our WhatsApp and Dunzo orders too are flooded.”
Besides, breakfast, lunch and dinner, a wide variety of special sweets like sapota kesari, akkaravadisal and ashoka halwa are also offered here. People can choose to either dine-in, takeaway or order their food via Dunzo. Orders can also be made via Whatsapp number – 6369353037
