Sewer problem in west R. A. Puram zone being tackled by Metrowater

Workers of Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board are working towards rectifying the sewer block in 2nd Trust Main Road and South Canal Bank Road junction, Raja Annamalai Puram.

In order to regulate an uninterrupted flow of the drainage water into the drains, they are broadening the sewer, we are told.

“The work is almost done. We’ve to just check for the centre junction and join the pipelines before
closing. And right now, we’re ensuring whether the Metrowater pipelines and cables are
fine,” said a worker at this spot, alongside the popular Alphonso playground.

The work has been going on for the past two months and was started after repeated complaints from
the residents.

A similar sewer problem is being addressed in the South Canal Bank Loop Street, R. A. Puram and is expected to get over in ten days’ time.
