Over 1000 people must have been on Bazaar Road over a one hour period this morning, all out shopping at the many nooks and joints on this busy street.
The crowd began to stream since 8 a.m. and the road, which has a variety of shops – selling meat, groceries, foodstuff, and more, was a buzz, with people rubbing shoulder to shoulder.
In some shop fronts, shoppers hardly had space to stand apart.
A police patrol van was seen moving here but no effort was made to act on the violations of the lockdown.
Some people say that having small shopping timings daily to shop only increases the shoppers’ numbers while others say people are stepping out daily because shops are allowed to open.
