Mylapore temples’ Sripatham meistri meets HR &CE minister, discusses critical issues

Sripatham Mestri, Sankar, met P. Sekar Babu, the HR & CE minister of Tamil Nadu on Monday night to brief him on the financial challenges that the Sripatham members across TN temples were currently facing following the lockdown of temples and the restriction on devotees’ entry into temples.
 
He presented a petition on behalf of Sripatham members asking for financial aid to the members and for the opening of temples.
 
Talking to the Mylapore Times on Tuesday, Sankar said that the HR & CE minister assured him
that he would look into this issue and take necessary steps. 
 
Sankar and his team of 60 Sripatham members carry on their shoulders during processions, Kapaleeswarar, Madhava Perumal, Kesava Perumal and Venkatesa Perumal of Mari Chetty Street on key occasions and have been doing so for many years.
