On the eighth day of the Srinivasa Perumal Brahmotsavam at the Vedantha Desikar Koil, vedu pari episode
of Thiru Mangai Azhvaar turning from a king to a saint poet was enacted inside the temple with the prabhandham members reciting the first verses of Periya Thirumozhi.
Srinivasa Perumal and Thiru Mangai Azhvaar went on a joint procession inside the temple.
In the normal course, this popular event of the Brahmotsavam would have seen a lot of buzz
and the enactment would have taken place on the West Chitrakulam Street in front of hundreds
of devotees.
But with current restrictions on street processions, the entire Brahmotsavam is being conducted inside the temple in a simple format without the use of vahanams.
A few regular devotees of the temple watched the procession on Friday evening at the entrance of the temple.
As per the current lockdown restrictions, devotees are not allowed inside the temple.
