Christmas Fest in the area
Christmas was celebrated in a grand way in the neighbourhood. There were night services held in all the churches. People sung carols and decorated their houses with lights.
Krishna Jayanthi festival celebration in Mylapore
Krishna Jayanthi was celebrated on September 1 / 2 in the Mylapore neighbourhood. One got to witness lots of children in the middle of the religious and social functions.

Diwali, the festival of lights, was celebrated in the neighbourhood with fire – crackers and sweets.
Srirangam swamigal dedicates ratna angi
The vigraham of Perumal at the Sri Vedantha Desikar Devasthanam, Mylapore was a-shimmer with a ratna angi that adorned Him.
Vijayadashmi
Vijayadashmi was celebrated on Oct 17. This marks the end of the Navarathri festival. This is considered an auspicious day to start a child’s learning. It is also a day to pay respects to one’s guru.
Children's Day celebration
Children’s Day was celebrated on Sunday, Nov 14. There were many competition and programs organised for kids on that day in the neighbourhood. Here are some of the picture of children during the contests.

Sundaram Finance organised painting workshop for children, aged 8 -12 years, on Saturday June 5. It was held at Nageswara Rao Park, Luz.

This the first time visit to your website of the place where I grew up… an alumni of PS High School (North) and Vivekananda College, I can have my basic heart only in Mylapore and when it is Panguni I cannot but remember with reverence the Kapaleeswarar’s Utsvan and the subsequent Vidayatri Vizha!!!.
I live in Vietnam these days but the memories of Mylapore lingers.
I must congratulate your team for bringing out such a wonderful and organised website. I understand the print edition is of great use to know of the happening around you.
