Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Rosary Mat. School

Rosary Matriculation Higher Secondary School celebrated its Diamond Jubilee on August 26 and 28 at the school auditorium.

On August 26, the celebration was held for KG to V Std. The chief guest was Justice Prabha Sridevan. The guest of honour was K. Devarajan, Director of Matriculation Schools and Tamil Mani, Inspector of Matriculation Schools.

Retired teaches, parents and alumni of the school were also present.

On August 28 the jubilee function was held for the students of Std. VI upwards. The chief guest was Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister for Textiles. The guest of honour was Sathyanarayan, Vice Chancellor of SRM University and Sister Cecile Joechaim, provincial of FMM sisters.

N. Ram, Editor -in -Chief of The Hindu was among the special invitees. Former principal Sister Fatima and other nuns from the St. Thomas Convent were also present.

The school band played the opening note and welcomed the chief guest.

Cultural events like dance, English and Tamil plays were performed. A multimedia presentation of the school’s activities was presented.

Senior teacher Amy Prabhu was felicitated as she was retiring this year. Two workers Arokiya Jaya and Kanikaimary were also recognised for their service as they were also retiring.

Tamil teacher Mary Regina and music teacher Shamla (seen in the photo) were felicitated for their 25 years service in the school.
