Two new restaurants have come up at Alwarpet, in the same building. A Parsi restaurant – Batlivala & Khanabhoy and a Maharashtrian restaurant – Meena Tai’s at 40, Maharaja Surya Road, Venus Colony, Alwarpet. Both ventures are headed by Uday Balaji and Vikram, a duo from Coimbatore.
Meena Tai’s is located on the ground floor of the building. It serves Marati delicacies like sabudhana vada, various baajis, chicken and mutton dishes and daals. If you have a specific diet, you can also find dishes that are gluten free, dairy free or shell fish free. Call them at 33011687.
On the first floor, B&K serves authentic Parsi delicacies like cutlets made with root vegetables, kheema pav, chicken lollypop, dhansak, rotlis and more. Not to leave out desserts like Santra Ni Kheer, Lagan Nu Custard and Kopra Pak Shots. ‘Though Parsi cuisine is mainly non-vegetarian, we have more than 45 dishes suitable for vegetarians’ says assistant manager Gabriel.
