MLA inspects four temple tanks and draws up plans to tap rainwater better

Mylapore’s MLA, R. Nataraj has visited and inspected tanks of four local temples this past week. Local area officers of state agencies were with him on this inspection.

The MLA says the aim of the visit was to ensure that rain water is properly harnessed and stored so as to charge the underground aquifer.

“Mylapore has a very good system of storm water draining into the temple tanks but there are some problems that need to be tackled,” the MLA said.

The MLA-led group looked at the tanks of Sri Kapaleeswarar, Sri Kesava Perumal, Sri Madhava Perumal and Sri Virupaksheewarar temples. A plan is being put into place to followup on ideas that came up at the inspections.

  1. pl clean the two strom water lines laid from Abraham St and Mandaveli St. under proper supervision. The entire lines are choked with waste and silt.
