MTC’s T. Nagar-Mylapore Small Bus has takers. Commuters want one more service.

MTC’s service Route S39 which serves the T. Nagar to Mylapore route has been gaining popularity of late – at Rs.10 the fare is rank cheap.

But commuters want MTC to introduce a service every half hour. The present service departs from the stand alongside Sri Kapali Temple tank every hour.

Says a MTC staffer, “If people petition MTC and ask for two buses on this route they may get the service. People say they can’t wait long to take this service.”

The bus covers Sai Baba Temple zone, Dr. Ranga Road, C. P. Ramaswamy Road, TTK Road junction, Bharathidasan Road and Nandanam.

“Even in peak hour traffic we do this trip in about 25 minutes,” says a driver who has worked on this route.

The first trip of the day from Mylapore departs at 6.05 am. Then on, the departure from Mylapore is every hour. The last trip of the day starts at about 9.05 p.m.

The Small Bus can seat 25. The Mylapore – T. Nagar fare is Rs.10.
