Sri Kapaleeswarar temple seeks suggestions to make it more accessible for seniors, differently abled persons

Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple in Mylapore is seeking suggestions/ideas from the public to make it more accessible for seniors and differently-abled persons.

The temple has recently installed two suggestion boxes near its east gopuram entrance, for this purpose.

Said a temple staff, “To provide better access to wheelchair-bound differently-abled persons and seniors, a few weeks ago, we opened the gate near east gopuram door.”

“However, hardly any seniors (below 60 years) and wheelchair-bound persons are visiting the temple. So we have kept these suggestion boxes now.”

“If in case seniors or differently-abled persons have faced any difficulty while visiting the temple, they can drop a note in these suggestion boxes, so that we can better the facilities for them. We also want suggestions/ideas from those persons/ public on how facilities can be improved at the temple so that differently-abled persons and seniors too can access the temple with ease.”

  1. While welcoming the move of the temple authorities inviting suggestions for improving services to the senior citizens,etc.. I would like to state that even though I am an ardent devotee of lord kapaleeswar and karpagambal,.. I have not had dharsan, since the lockdown and it would be better for senior citizens to pray the lord kapaleeswar from their homes..till the vaccination is made available in Chennai.
    Thank you.

  2. I and my wife aged 88 and 82 cannot be termed as ‘seniors’, but ‘super seniors’. I do not know how to access the temple. Do we have to wait for the Covid to be completely wiped out?

    1. Are you saying you need help to be transported to the temple? Or are you asking for specific facility at temple gate and inside that will help people like you? Please explain a bit in detail.
