Civic workers on Sunday were busy cleaning up the lawns, public spaces and service road of the Marina beach.
The beach is to be opened to the public on December 14.
The Marina, from the Cooum river end to the Light House end had been barricaded since the lockdown for the pandemic situation was imposed in early April. And it has been like this till today, with extra police on patrol here to keep off people.
In recent times though, people began visiting the seaside off the Light House in the kuppam zone and as the crowd became bigger police had to clear them off every evening.
And finally a sigh of relief.
