As MTC bus services resume, drivers and conductors on duty have been vaccinated

Following the relaxation measures announced on Sunday, all the bus routes resumed services from the Mandaveli  MTC bus depot on Monday morning.
Senthil Kumar, branch manager of this depot told Mylapore Times on Sunday evening that all the buses have been sanitised and are ready to get back on the roads. Diesel has been filled in all the buses.
150 drivers and an equal number of conductors belonging to the depot have all been vaccinated, he said.
All them have been were asked to report for work Monday.
There has been demand from passengers to resume services and the decision to operate buses within the four districts is a welcome move, Senthil Kumar said.
With women allowed to travel free on MTC buses, he said he expects a good crowd this week. The buses can for now operate only at 50 percent seating capacity.
The RTO inspected the buses on Sunday evening at the Mandaveli depot to ensure everything was in order.
