The play ground alongside P. S. Hr Sec. School in Mylapore has been allowed to be used b y the public.
In the morning, access is allowed from 6am to 10 am and in the evening, 3pm to 6pm on all days of the week.
Youths began to play cricket and football since Sunday morning.
This ground, leased to the P S School was recovered by the HR & CE Department recently since the lease deal could not be executed fully by the school.
Shekar Babu, the HR & CE minister and Mylapore MlA Dha Velu promised to relay parts of the ground so that many sports could be played here by youths. There was also talk that during some hours, the playground could be used by P S School students too.
This playground has a long history locally, with scores of teens having played here and some made a name for themselves in cricket.
P.S.School students may be allowed to use the playground for specific days and P.S. School may be allowed to conduct Sports day functions at a nominal fees
