  1. In the 1980’s and 1990’s, many of faculty in Department of Chemistry at Vivekananda College were students of Prof. NVS. Prof. NVS’ research program in the areas of physical organic chemistry and chemical kinetics were remarkable in terms of scope and productivity. I was a student in Viveka for 1986-1989 and was fortunate to have learned from many of his students such as Dr. S. Sundaram and Dr. V. S. Srinivasan. They were great teachers and supported the students day in and day out. The excitement for Chemistry was palpable in our daily conversations. Thus, we were the beneficiaries of the foundation laid by Prof. NVS in Viveka. Prof. NVS’ legacy lives on through his students and their students.

  2. A great scientist, able administrator and a great man simplicity and virtue.
Under his principal’s tenure, I was the best outgoing student in 1974, blessed by him with Dr Nanjunda Rao Gold Medal. With the consistent University First Rank with a First class in MA degree, I took his blessings to get my Ph.D later at University of Madras. All my later achievements of joining State & Central Universities I owe to this great soul.
May his soul rest in peace!
