CSI Good Shepherd Church in Alwarpet observed Gift Sunday on December 4.
In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, each member of the parish brought in gifts which will be given to the poor. Members placed bags of toys, sarees, veshtis, bedsheets and towels at the altar .
Secretary of the pastorate committee Y. Bhuvanesh Kumar said that representatives from the fringe of the city collect these gifts and distribute them to poor.
In the evening at this campus, the Sunday School children performed a skit based on the birth of Jesus.
Jhansy Solomon, superintendent of the Sunday School co-ordinated this show.
She said there are 160 students in Sunday School and they are trained by 32 teachers. All the children were presented with gifts at the end of this event.
