Kumbhabhishekam: entry to temple only via east gate

The last of the preparations are going on for the kumbabhishekam at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple due on April 3. D. Kaveri, the executive officer of the temple says her team and workers have been working round the clock to ensure all the arrangements for the religious rituals and for guests and people are in place.
Here we highlight key information that Kaveri has for Mylaporeans –
Entry and Exit points
The public will be allowed to enter the temple from the east gopuram side and temple gates via Ponnambalam Vadiyar Street.

Tickets for Darshan
There will be two separate queues – one for free darshan and another for the Rs. 100 ticket-holders. Tickets will be issued at the entry point on that day.
Space for VIPs
No provision has been made for a separate stage for VIPs.
Areas that the public can access
The public can access all the areas around the temple which have not been cordoned off.  Much of the north side of the temple is no go zone because the rituals / homams are on here.

The key event will start on Sunday at 8.30 a.m. and the kumbabhishekam for the maha gopuram and the other vimanams will be held simultaneously. It is expected to get over by 10 a.m.
