Mylapore’s MLA R Nataraj has been briefed by Sundaram Finance of the improvements made to Nageswara Rao Park since the time cyclone Vardah ripped trees, set low plants and damaged much infrastructure.
The company has been taking care of the park for many years.
On Sunday morning, the MLA came by to watch the mikeless kutcheri organised by Sundaram Finance on the first Sunday of every month.
S. Sivakumar, VP, Sundaram Finance Ltd., took Nataraj around the park and showed him jobs that had been undertaken – newly-laid lawns across the park, now bounded to safeguard them from the public, re-set gates at both ends and repairs to the drain system.
SF company sources say that the MLA was impressed and suggested that the park contend for the ‘best park’ in the city award.
