Chettinad Vidyashram team wins second prize in Madras Day contest

Chettinad Vidyashram school team bagged the second prize in the annual Madras Day Heritage of Chennai contest hosted by Mylapore Times. This was part of the Madras Day 2019 celebrations.

This year the thee for study and presentation in public was ‘ Old Neighbourhood Stores’. The event was held at Srinivasa Sastri hall, the venue sponsored by SINA which manages this place.

14 teams took part. The team of PSBB, K K Nagar won the first prize and was awarded the rolling trophy.

PSBB team studies three local shops in K K Nagar while Chettinad Vidyashram team chose old stores in Adyar, close to their school campus in R. A. Puram.

The team from Navadisha in Velachery stood third.

The contest encourages school students to study and research history/heritage related themes, create PP presentations and present them at a common venue.
