Tons of waste left behind at Pattinapakkam seashore after immersion of goddess Durga idols

On Oct 8 evening, tons of flowers, plastic bags, clothes and pooja items (shown in picture) were left behind at Pattinapakkam ( Foreshore Estate) seashore following the immersion of the idols of goddess Durga.

Said A. P. Basha, a police officer who was here to keep an eye on the immersion process, “Over 1000 people were here from across the city and close to 60 idols were immersed today.”

The immersion follows the end of the annual puja festival. There was no sign of processes in place for the immersion as is made at Vinayaka Chathurthi time.
