The traditional and symbolic ritual that formally launches the annual Panguni festival celebrations at Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore – the reading of the lagna patrikai – was held on Sunday evening, Feb. 25.A large number of people gathered around the dwajasthambam in the western side of the temple and took part in the religious ceremony that lasted for about an hour.
