Large number of people attend Good Friday service at San Thome cathedral

The campus of the St Thomas Cathedral in San Thome was packed on Friday evening as a large number of people gathered to take part in the Good Friday Lenten service here. People of the parish and from across the city were present.

The service began with Stations of the Cross, a common religious practice that Catholics undertake during Lenten, tracing the events that led to the death of Jesus.

The 12 ‘stations’ were created all around the cathedral campus.

Later, the Good Friday service followed. Parish priest Fr. Vincent Chinnadurai and his brother priests led the service.

The English version of the Good Friday service was held at the new auditorium inside St. Bede’s AI School campus, next door.
