Snacks bunk ‘takes over’ pavement in busy Mylapore area

Here is a good example of flagrant violation of public space. A case of how small shops / bunks encroach on the pavement space.

This bunk shop – Mylai Maska Jaska – is on Venkatesa Agraharam Street in Mylapore – closer to the east side.

The food joint has been built on the pavement mostly and clients here have to stand on the roadside to have a snack.

Residents of this area who already face problems posed by dozens of hawkers who have set up shop on this busy road where the Sai Baba Temple is located, ask why local area GCC officials have allowed the food bunk to operate.

  1. This is the area where bus is turning left from Ramakrishna math Road. Very risky. How GCC allowed such shops. We don’t have pedestrian friendly platforms.
