A long-distance running event called ‘Miles of Smiles’ was hosted by Vidya Mandir school to mark its 70th year,
It was held on Sunday, April 20 morning in Besant Nagar’s 3rd Avenue, off Rajaji Bhavan complex.
Some 1130 people participated in this 2km and 5km run. These included sub-teens as well as 70 year olds – students, teachers, parents and grandparents of the students as well as alumni.
The event was flagged off by the school’s secretary, Srikanth. Medals were given to all participants.
Vidya Mandir principal S. H. Kanchanamala said, “The success of the event was made possible by the collective effort of the dedicated school staff, VMPTA (Parents Teachers Association) and the school alumni.”
