Admissions are now open for courses of the Tamil Nadu Government Music College in R A Puram (affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Music and Performing Arts University).
Interested candidates can register their applications for admission to diploma/degree/bachelor full-time weekend degree/certificate courses at the Tamil Nadu Government Music College, Chennai for the academic year 2025-2026 at the website www.artandculture.tn.gov.in.
Three-year diploma courses are offered in vocal, veena, violin, flute, mridangam, Bharatnatyam, nagaswaram, thavil, kadam, kanjira, morsing and folklore.
One year music teacher training, three years Bachelor of Music (BA Music), four years Bachelor’s degree full time weekend program in vocal, veena, violin, Bharatanatyam, flute and 2 years evening college certificate course in vocal, veena, violin and mridangam are the other courses offered.
Tamil Pudalvan and Puthumai Pen Scheme scholarships are provided for those who studied in Tamil medium.
A government scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month will be provided to all students studying in all streams for 10 months in a year. This is not applicable to evening college/undergraduate full-time weekend degree courses.
