Councillor Amirda Varshini ( Congress) who represents Ward 126 ( Mandavelipakkam / part of Marina kuppam zones) has requested the city Mayor to set up a gymnasium exclusively for women in her ward.
She said she presented this petition to mayor Priya Rajan on May 10 and requested that this project be undertaken under the Mayor’s fund.
Amirda says that many women who exercise and go for walks in Mandavelipakkam and around had suggested a gym exclusively for women.
She said there is a small plot in Mandavelioakkam which can be used to build the suggested gyn.
