The senior citizen who lost his way this morning in Mylapore and was reported ‘missing’ – with messages shared online on Mylapore residents’ platforms, is now safe and united with his family.
Ramaswamy is a retired teacher who worked in Singaram Pillai School in Villivakkam .
He set out this morning from his house in Villivakkam to Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore to have a darshan. Though he has a cellphone he did not carry it with him; after darshan he seems to have lost track of directions back home, said police at Pattinapakkam police station who handled this case.
E5 Pattinapakkam police station got into the act and caught up with the senior once the ‘missing’ news reached police here..
Sub-inspector Rajeswari and Vino, head constable and policeman Rajkumar took charge – they were able to convince Ramaswamy that he was in safe hands and he was asked to rest at the police station .
Conversations and messages finally helped the police to locate the senior’s family and he was reunited by early evening.
