Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) is in the process of installing GPS system, surveillance management modules and installation of digital info boards at key bus stops. This will update commuters on arrival time of buses and provide additional details.
As a pilot project, a few hundred bus stops had been chosen to have this facility incorporated . One such is on 2nd M ain Road, R. A. Puram. There are are a few other bus stops in the Mylapore zone which are also to be fitted with this facility.
You will spot a blue-painted box fitted near the chosen bus stop.
Since MTC buses had stopped plying in the heart of Mylapore due to Chennai Metro work, stops in other areas have bene chosen.
