The Probus Club of Chennai, jointly with the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, celebrated International Women’s Day on May 24 at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Alwarpet. The event honoured the achievements and contributions of women in various fields.
Probus Club of Chennai’s president, Annadhurai, M, presided. Alexander Dodonov, director and Vice-consul, gave a special address.
Padmini Pattabiraman, writer and journalist, was the chief guest. Nikhil Raj, President-elect of Rotary Club of Madras, and Mamathi Chari, author and artist, were guests of honour.
Probus Club of Chennai presented the Probus Award of Excellence-2025 to Seetha Devi R, founder of Street Vision Social & Charitable Trust, and the Probus Recognition Award-2025 to Prof. Kasturi Raja, former principal of Bakthavatchalam Memorial College for Women.
Club secretary V. Ramaraj gave a vote of thanks.
