Buzz returns in school zones as schools open for new academic year

For over four weeks, the buzz that surrounds school zones in Mylapore was missing. That returned this Monday, June 2 morning.

Schools opened for the new academic year and in all the roads and streets leading to schools here, there were streams of people – girls on cycles, parents on bikes with tiny-tots, boys walking and cycling…all headed to attend the first day at school.

At a few schools, there was a special prayer assembly.

At St. Joseph’s Primary School in the campus of the St Raphael’s Girls School in San Thome, teachers greeted students at the main gate, with flowers and toffees.
