GCC reserves pavement on Luz Church Road as vending zone

Greater Chennai Corporation  has created formal hawking /vending zones across the city and reserved spaces even in Mylapore.
In Mylapore, vending is to be permitted on  the pavement off Luz Church Road, near The Mylapore Club and off the
Amrutanjan premises. GCC has erected a sign board near Amrutanjan.
GCC has also set up pre-fab hawker stalls here which were made some years ago for the jawkers on the Marina Beach and were never used for different reasons – these bunks were moved out from the beach, then dumped in a GCC playground and later in the Mylapore crematorium. Hawkers had then said the design and size of these bunks were unsuitable for their business.
Since the eastern end of this road is closed for Chennai Metro rail work, hawkers may find this area convenient.
However, some hawkers of Luz Circle have set up shop off the Mundagakanni Amman MRTS station.
