GCC staff employ simple method to water plants. Seen on Kalvi Varu Street

Greater Chennai Corporation had come up with a simple idea to water plants in spots it has developed.
One case is seen on Kalvi Varu Street in Mylapore, the street alongside the Buckingham Canal.
The GCC staff in division 124 have used old plastic water bottles, erected them vertically around plants, filled them with water that then drips through holes made in these bottles.
They say this makes for smarter and better watering – much like drip Irrigation in farms.
The GCC staff hope that the bottles are not vandalised and df this works well, can be replicated in other spots.
This area comes under the Division 124 .
