There is news for foodies. The well-known Manoj Bhavan Is to open its restaurant in Mylapore. Final stages of work is on at the location opposite the west end of South Mada Street.
The building is located where Vetri Vilas and Anna Vilas restaurants functioned for a short span in the past – both did not do well in business.
Manoj Bhavan not only has restaurants in the city but also on the GST highway and these are popular pitstops through the day.
Elsewhere, renovation is on at Hotel Shelter on Venkatesa Agraharam Road; it has remained shut for more than a year.

Manoj Bhavan is coming up at the same spot, which has seen two restaurants shut shop in quick succession. Main reason being inconvenient location, at a junction corner, and difficulty in getting parking space. Best wishes to the new business.
During 1964 to 1966 I was doing PUC snd 1st year MBBS in Vivekanantha college. Whenever I had money I used to go to Sukani vilas hotel . Two iddlies and one full plate of sambar or sometimes full meals I used to have.
