Ward 126 councillor Amirdha Varshini ( Congress) allotted money from the fund set aside annually to councillors for local area projects, to set up a colourful enclosure of a large power transformer in Jeth Nagar.
TANGEDCO has been erecting such protective barriers around its large installations in public spaces and this one has come up on Jeth Nagar’s main road.
The barrier protects people from loose ends in the equipment, from waste being dumped around it and for workmen to attend to it when the need arises, in peace.

Appreciate the efforts to barricade the space surrounding the transformer.
However, they could have considered the issue it creates for people taking right from ammani ammal street into Jeth nagar or turning left into ammani ammal street from Jeth nagar. The height and extension blocks view for motorists and hope it doesn’t result in an accident.
