Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute: big group of scholars present papers at Nepal conference

 A team of eight scholars from the Kuppuswami Sastri Research Institute (KSRI), Mylapore, was selected to present their original research papers across a wide range of Sanskrit sub-disciplines at the 19th World Sanskrit Conference held in late June in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Lots of researchers, educators, and practitioners from over 50 countries participated.

KSRI says that the participation of the Institute’s scholars underscores KSRI’s strong commitment to advancing Sanskrit scholarship at an international level. These were the scholars and themes of papers presented.

Dr. K. Vidyuta, assistant professor – Devouts as Divinities: Agama‑Sanctioned Socio‑Cultural Metamorphosis. J. Lalitha, former librarian – Strategies for Preserving Our Old Traditions (Palm‑Leaf Manuscripts). Dr. Annapurna, research associate – Preparation of Mercury from the Text Ānandakanda

Gayathri, Ph.D. scholar – Sammarjani Satakam and the Political Cleansing System. Bhuvaneswari, Prospective Ph.D. scholar – Pharmacodynamics of Phytoconstituents of Herbal Antidotes to Snakes (Kashyapa Samhita)

In recognition of KSRI’s academic merit, Central Sanskrit University (CSU), New Delhi, extended full sponsorship to all eight scholars.

This is the first time in the annals of the KSRI that so many scholars have been given this privilege by the organisers and the CSU, New Delhi, said a note from KSRI
