Residents of V. C. Garden 3rd Street are wondering why Chennai Corporation has ignored their street in laying new stormwater drains when these were built in other local streets.
By ignoring the street for a drain, water stagnation is severe when it rains as was the case in recent days.
“.The water drains after a long time and poses problems like pollution and mosquito breeding,” said K. Babu, in an e-mailed report.
He says that storm water drain work was carried out by GCC in V. C. Garden 2nd Street and also in
St. Marys Road. But V. C. Garden 3rd Street was ignored.
Residents say that this issue has been brought to the notice of GCC through a letter and also through personal visits to the local office but GCC has not responded.
