Alwarpet flyover ‘two-way’ traffic system: changes made now

There has been a small change in the traffic system introduced on the Alwarpet flyover last week; it was made two-way. A change was made on Thursday .
The entry on to the flyover’s south end for all the vehicles from the south side moving towards Narada Gana Sabha / Music Academy side is now closed.
All such vehicles are being directed alongside the flyover, as it was earlier .
Police officials here opined that they have been facing traffic jams during the evening peak hours on the north side of the flyover. Based on their observation the tweaking in the two-way system was made.
The officials said that during the  morning hours,  the two-way system will be followed.
However, the C P Ramaswamy Road’s west side is narrow and cannot take the heavy load of traffic now.
Also, traffic jams occur now on the Murrays Gate Road and Kasturi Ranga Road section.

  1. Interesting changes to the Alwarort flyover traffic system. I wonder if the two-way implementation during mornings might actually worsen congestion on the narrower C P Ramaswamy Road
