Since Tuesday morning, August26, Mami’s Mess in Mylapore has been abuzz. Over a dozen people, seated on the floor across a section of this popular restaurant, have been making sweet and then, by turn, karam kozhukattai to meet orders placed for the Vinayaka Chathurthi festival tomorrow.
Members of the Mamis’ Mess family joined workers here to make the dumplings by the dozens in record time so that the orders can reach customers later today.
Each piece is priced at Rs.13 and besides kozhukattai, orders for sweet pongal, medhu vadai, appam and sundal are also being taken – the orders may be placed till August 27 evening.
