R. Lakshmi, a long-time resident of Mylapore, passed away on August 2 at the age of 92.
She had been residing at No. 23, Arisikara Street for over seven decades.
A native of Karaikudi, she was married to the late S. Ranganathan of the renowned Vijaya Vauhini and Gemini Studios.
Lakshmi was a well-known person in her neighbourhood and her regular visits to the temples in Mylapore reflected her spiritual inclination, her family said.
She was also known for her interest in handicrafts and for the elaborate Navarathri kolu she created and displayed in her house.
Lakshmi is survived by her son R. Mugunthan, chartered accountant and daughter
Vijaya Chari and their families.
