Metrowater is pumping water into the tank of Sri Kapali Temple, Mylapore since late Wednesday. This operation is going on on Thursdasy morning.
The water is being channeled via a SWD drain at the south-west end of the tank, opposite the Sangeetha restaurant end. This is a majorĀ inlet for rainwater to flow into the tank when it rains.
This action follows the tank getting dry and being parched. A state minister had visited the place and instructed state officials to take action.

Question is; will this water remain in the tank when the ground is parched? Or when dozens of bore-wells around the tank zone suck all ground water daily?
It has not been evident if the drains that carry rainwater into the tank were recently cleaned so they can carry a full load of water when it rains.
(( )) WHAT IS YOUR OPINION on this action? Is it wise or has it been done to satisfy sentiments of people who yearn for water in tank all the time when the reality is different?
