The creation of two-way on the Alwarpet flyover is primarily to facilitate construction of a massive and delayed storm water drain system across TTK Road at the Murrays Gate Road and Kauvery Hospital junction.
Though the two-way system is enforced now during peak hours, as witnessed the past two days, the TTK Road section at the Udhi Eye Hospital junction is barricaded.
So vehicles on the south-to-north side get clogged on Muarrays Gate Road and Kasturi Ranga Road; though a policemen mans traffic here at peak hour time, motorists using this section will have to face delays.
Some of them take the right on Sriman Srinivasa Road and join TTK Road at a point before Narada Gana Sabha. But cars are parked on both sides of Sriman Srinivasa Road and traffic jams occur.
