The Dementia Care Foundation is organising a free special workshop for caregivers of
persons with dementia on Saturday, August 23, from 4 p.m., for an hour at its
new clinic at 14/16, 1st Cross Street, CIT Colony, Mylapore.
The session will be facilitated by K. V. Sundararajan, a senior advocate at the Madras High Court, an expert in
elder law and caregiving rights.
This workshop will provide caregivers with essential insights into the legal rights,
responsibilities, and protections in dementia care, while also addressing issues of
guardianship, consent, decision-making, and safeguarding elder rights, said a note from the Foundation.
Caregivers will gain practical guidance on accessing legal remedies, support systems, and safeguards
available under Indian law—empowering families to handle the challenges of dementia care
with clarity, confidence, and compassion, the note added.
