The management of the Sai Baba Temple and its allied operations and services has been ordered to be dissolved. This by an order by the Madras High Court.
Two retired judges will take over the management and will be assisted by their team – for an interim period.
The All India Sai Samajam runs the shrine, school, shops and other services in this campus. Thangaraj, a petitioner with others in this case, stated that there was mismanagement of temple affairs, unilateral decisions taken by the core Samaj team and there was no transparency in its conduct and management.
The judge had asked retired judge P N Prakash to probe the issues raised and justice Prakash got back to state that the management did not co-operate with him and that proper audit statements were not filed and that a decision to build a mantap here was taken unilaterally.
The court appointed retired judges K N Basha and P N Prakash to take charge of the temple management as an interim measure, after the existing team is dissolved. The court has asked that an update of this process be filed on Sept.15.
