Funds for students, talk on Vande Bharat trains and demo on home manure made this R. A. Puram community’s AGM engaging

Raja Annamalaipuram Residents’ Association (RAPRA) held its 10th Annual General Body Meeting on September 7 at Rajah Muthiah School, Srinivasa Avenue.

Many vendors had exhibited their products and services for the benefit of the residents. The government horticulture department stall, one for textiles and another for artificial jewellery were a big draw.

Ramana Eye Centre, led by its founder, Dr C. Senthilnathan, conducted a free eye-screening camp.

P. Dhanasekar, Chief Loco Inspector, South West Railway, Bengaluru, was the chief guest. He spoke about the popular Vande Bharat trains in India.

The chief manager of Bank of Baroda, Ramesh Raju Vadapalle, spoke on the bank’s current schemes.

Financial assistance worth Rs.1.6 lakhs was given to forty students of Chennai School and government-aided schools of the neighbourhood.

Ganga Sridhar and Sumithra Srikant of Eko Connectors Trust demonstrated how to make manure at homes from kitchen waste.

Dr. R. Chandrasekaran, president of RAPRA, presented the activities of the Association through the year.
